
Dr Neha is a sustainability strategist and advisor with over 25 years of experience supporting governments, multilateral agencies, and leading corporates in advancing climate action and sustainable development across emerging economies.
Her expertise spans water, energy, climate resilience, environmental governance, and resource efficiency, with a strong track record of translating global sustainability frameworks into scalable, implementation-ready strategies. She combines scientific depth with policy insight and execution capability, enabling institutions to embed sustainability into core business and governance systems.
Dr Neha holds a Ph.D. in reclaimed municipal wastewater use. Her early work with the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and the M. C. Mehta Environmental Foundation contributed to landmark environmental litigations and global initiatives such as the GLOBE Program. She has also led key assignments with Indian Oil Corporation (R&D) and the Central Electricity Authority.
She spent nearly two decades with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), where she served as Senior Fellow and Lead – Strategic Communication for Sustainability, leading multi-stakeholder programmes, institutional partnerships, and sustainability strategies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Her work integrates strategy, policy, capacity building, and on-ground implementation, including renewable energy, water and wastewater systems, and large-scale behaviour change initiatives. She has advised and delivered programmes for senior government leadership, corporates, and institutions, driving measurable outcomes at scale.
Dr Neha has represented India at COP24 and COP25, authored over 50 publications, and is the author of the national bestseller Save the Rain (2020). She contributes in advisory, governance, and expert capacities across prominent national and international platforms, including the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication
She provides strategic advisory and consulting support to organisations including UNOPS, CII, Bharti Airtel, ICWMR, and TERI School of Advanced Studies, and serves as Head – Sustainability & Behaviour Change at Chakra Dialogues Foundation. Her engagements extend to national and international institutions shaping sustainability standards, policy frameworks, and sectoral dialogue.
